About the Job

At the bankruptcy supervision, we at the Swedish Enforcement Authority ensure that bankruptcy administration is conducted correctly and in accordance with applicable law. As an economist in bankruptcy supervision, you actively work to ensure that the bankruptcy administration is swift, lawful, and efficient.

Your tasks include performing financial reviews together with your colleagues and monitoring the financial management in bankruptcies and restructurings. You will have contact with several target groups, such as bankruptcy administrators, reconstructors, courts, and other external actors. You oversee that the bankruptcy administration is conducted appropriately, which may involve visits to debtor companies and trustee offices. One of your tasks is to speak in front of groups.

Everyone working at the Swedish Enforcement Authority contributes to the fight against crime. Your tasks include identifying and preventing attempts at criminal activity and notifying other authorities of suspected crimes. As an economist, you may, for example, alert other authorities that a person is receiving benefits on incorrect grounds. This can result in you helping to stop incorrect payments from the welfare system.

Within bankruptcy supervision, we work closely together. It is important that the work is efficient, and we place great emphasis on uniformity and spreading good examples.

Possible locations are Sundbyberg or Umeå.

Your Qualifications:

  • Academic education in economics with at least 180 credits (120 points according to the old system)
  • Several years of experience in accounting and auditing
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is desirable that you have current experience in insolvency law or supervision. It is also desirable that you have current experience in accounting.

Good to Know

The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. You will be employed as an economist. The Swedish Enforcement Authority offers the possibility of remote work by agreement with the employer.

Working in the government means that you adhere to the government’s value base. There are also special requirements for judgment, security awareness, and compliance with applicable laws. We ask questions during the interview about any previous criminal activity and shortcomings in previous employment. For final candidates, these questions are also posed to references. We also collect information about debts registered with the Swedish Enforcement Authority, bankruptcy, and business prohibitions. Information obtained will be considered in the overall assessment of your suitability for the position.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a hiring decision is made. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
